This is an outfit that I made by hand using the Alabama Chanin sewing techniques where two layers of organic cotton jersey are sewn together.. The jacket took hundreds of hours starting with designing the jacket, cutting the stencil, stenciling the design on the fabric, hand sewing around the design then cutting out the top layer of fabric and hand sewing it all together. Then there was the binding, beading and pleating the trim.
Along with the jacket is the top with beading and the short skirt with beaded trim.
I love doing this kind of work in the evenings and weekends. It is truly a labor of love. If I were to sell it the cost would be around $6000. But it is not for sale.
This is shown with the long skirt with a larger design sewn in the sam manor except that the top layer is black.
Detail of jacket
This picture shows the lining of the jacket which I put pockets on the inside. There are also side seam pockets on the outside making 4 pockets altogether. Love it!

Claudia, this is absolutely stunning. I love both but prefer the short version. My mother taught me the benefits of hand sewing and I'm so grateful to her. Your outfit is priceless! Well done.
